MTV Hero Honda Roadies: Hell Down Under, the nation’s most successful & hard hitting reality show comes to an end with Nauman Sait emerging as the ultimate Roadie! The explosive journey which kick started in India and then went on a roller coaster ride down under to the dangerous terrains of Australia, concluded with a mind numbing finale and a deserving winner! 

Nauman, a 21 year old boy from the city of Bangalore, was voted out of the show due to the building politics and his affection and partiality towards fellow Roadie - Tamanna.

The actor had been diagnosed with cancer over a year ago.

Firoz Khan was born in Bangalore, India. His father was Sadiq Ali Khan Tanoli,who was a Pathan originally from Ghazni province of Afghanistan and his mother (Fatima) came from Iran. 

He has three brothers Sanjay Khan, Sameer Khan and Akbar Khan. After his schooling from Bangalore, he arrived in Mumbai where he made his debut as second lead in Didi .

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has called off his indefinite hunger strike over Sri Lankan issue following an assurance from Union Home Minister P Chidambaram that the UPA Government will seek to convince the Sri Lankan Government to halt hostilities against the LTTE. 

"I have the government's assurance over the Sri Lankan issue," Karunanidhi said on ending his fast. He was on an indefinite fast under the memorial of late C N Annadurai early on Monday morning. His son M K Azhagiri was also observing a fast.

Akshaya Tritiya, or Akha Teej, is an auspicious day which falls on the third day after Amavasi (no moon) in the Hindu month of Vaishakha. According to Hindu astrology and almanac, each second on Akshaya Tritiya is auspicious. It is said there is no need to look for a muhurat on the day. The word Akshaya means ‘that which never diminishes’, and the day is ideal for beginning new ventures as it is believed that all investments on this day are bound to appreciate. Akshaya Tritiya and Parashuram Jayanti are both being observed on Monday. 

In a traditional Hindu lunar calendar, Akshay Tritiya is observed on the third day of Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of moon) in Vaishakh Month. 

A market leader in two-wheelers, Hero Honda has outpaced rivals with a 12 per cent sales growth in 2008-09, as against a flat growth of 3 per cent for the industry this year. Good growth in sub-125 cc segment and a strong foothold in the semi-urban and rural markets has helped Hero Honda weather uncertainties such as lower credit availability and a slowdown in urban purchases relatively well. 

However, with a 42 per cent gain over the past year (the Sensex declined 32 per cent in the same period), the stock has completely sidestepped the market meltdown and now trades at a sizeable valuation premium over the market. 

The anti-corruption branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday arrested Sumathi Ravichandran, Chennai regional passport officer (RPO), for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 9,000 from a passport applicant through a tout — a travel agent in T Nagar. 

Her husband, R Ravichandran, a health officer in Chennai Corporation, was arrested on Saturday for engaging the touts. Two touts — Fathima Muzaffar, director of Ahmed World Travels and daughter of former IUML MP Abdul Samad, and Raju, owner of Raja Travels in Triplicane — were also arrested. A case was registered under Sec 120B (criminal conspiracy) and Sec 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. 

The real estate market in Bangalore, dubbed as India's Silicon Valley, mirrors the India outsourcing story. Mutual fund major UTI Asset Management Company (UTI AMC) is likely to offload 26 per cent stake to a strategic investor within the next three months.

The company had short-listed three firms for selling the stake, said UK Sinha, chairman and managing director, UTI AMC, on the sidelines of a function to announce the fund’s tie-up with Coopers Wealth Creators and Tower Infotech, for selling a micro pension scheme under the UTI-Retirement Benefit Pension Fund.

Net income for the quarter rose to 10.1 billion rupees ($201 million) from 8.8 billion rupees. That was higher than the median profit forecast of 9.37 billion rupees from analysts surveyed by FactSet Research. 

Total revenue jumped 13% to 64.5 billion rupees from 57 billion rupees, with the key information technology services division contributing more than three-quarters of those revenues. The figures were calculated using Indian accounting standards. 

Filmmaker and LJPcandidate from West Champaran seat Prakash Jha was arrestedafter police raided his guest house and allegedly seized Rs10.25 lakh following reports that he was distributing moneyamong voters. 

West Champaran Superintendent of Police K S Anupam led ateam of local police and central paramilitary forces in theraid at Jha's guest house around midnight, seized the moneyand arrested 29 persons, including the filmmaker.
